Guide

Publish to Statuspage

Push incident updates to the customer-facing pages that should reflect current impact.

Before you start

  • Know whether the update is internal only or should be customer-facing.
  • Decide which Statuspage pages should receive the incident.

Do this

  1. Open the incident command center and go to Status Pages.
  2. Select Post Update.
  3. Write the update you want readers to see.
  4. Leave the update internal only, or enable external publishing if it should go to Statuspage.
  5. Select the external pages that should receive the incident if more than one page is available.
  6. Publish the update and confirm the linked external incident state.
  7. Repeat from the same incident as the event moves from investigating to monitoring and then to resolved.

Check it worked

  • The update is visible from the incident record.
  • The expected Statuspage pages show an attached external incident.
  • The page attachment state is easy to verify from Status Pages.

If it does not work

  • If no external page is available, finish the Statuspage setup in integrations first.
  • If the wrong page is attached, remove it before you publish the next update.
  • If public copy feels too detailed, shorten it and keep internal detail in the incident timeline instead.
