Guide
Assign Service Ownership
Map each function to the team that should receive and work the page.
Before you start
- Create the systems and functions you want to route against.
- Decide which team should own each function during response.
Do this
- Open
Coverage > Ownership. - Create a new ownership mapping.
- Select the function that should route to a team.
- Select the owning team.
- Save the mapping and repeat for each function that needs explicit ownership.
- Edit older mappings when team ownership changes instead of creating duplicate definitions.
Check it worked
- The function appears with the expected owning team.
- The system context is visible beside the function so you can verify you mapped the right object.
- Alert routing and incident scope can now resolve to the correct team path.
If it does not work
- If a function is missing, create it in the catalog first.
- If the wrong team is being paged, fix ownership before changing schedules.
- If the same service is split across too many teams, clean up the catalog model before adding more ownership rules.
