Guide
Verify the On-Call Directory
Check who is on call right now before you trust a page path during a live incident.
Before you start
- Make sure the relevant schedules are active.
- Know which team or service you want to verify.
Do this
- Open
Coverage > On Call. - Search for the team, schedule, or responder you want to verify.
- Check the provider label to confirm whether the current responder is coming from OpsBell or PagerDuty.
- Open the row detail and review the current responder and escalation ladder.
- Check the handoff windows so you know when the next responder change is expected.
- Use the page action from the board if you want to test the path from the current on-call view.
Check it worked
- The team shows the expected primary responder.
- The escalation ladder reflects the same order you intended in the schedule or linked provider.
- The team can verify coverage without opening the schedule editor.
If it does not work
- If the wrong responder is on call, inspect the schedule timeline first.
- If PagerDuty data looks stale, verify the integration connection before editing local schedules.
- If the row is unassigned, check whether the schedule has active participants for the current window.
